Welcome to the Saskatoon Fringe Theatre Festival!

We are elated to have you join us at the Festival – running August 3rd to 12th, 2023 – in the heart is the Nutana district in Saskatoon. The 2023 Festival will play host to a variety of theatre artists, professional busking artists, and artisan vendors from all across the world.

Each year, creative and brilliant outdoor performers from all around enhance our festival with their unique acts, big and small.

In 2023, the outdoor festival site is in the arts-friendly Broadway district of Saskatoon with all theatre venues being within short walking distance of each other.  11th Street East between Broadway Avenue and Dufferin Avenue is closed to traffic for the duration of the Festival.

Application Process
Applications are reviewed on a weekly basis.  We are able to accept up to 12 circle buskers, 12 pop-up buskers, and 4 baby buskers.
.
Circle busking slots are geared towards individuals or groups with large-scale acts (i.e. aerialists, escape artists, fire breathers, etc.).
Pop-up & Baby Busking slots are geared towards individuals or groups with small-scale acts (i.e. solo musicians, card magicians, living statues, etc.)!
Baby Buskers are those new to busking and are under 18 y/o: the fees are lower to participate, and you won’t have as much of a time commitment to the Festival.
.
When reviewing applications, we will be focused on:
  • exposing our patrons to a variety of art forms,
  • ensuring a quality experience for our patrons, and
  • providing a safe and respectful environment for our patrons, other artists, volunteers, and staff.
You will be contacted no later than 10 business days after submitting your application to let you know if we are able to offer you a space at the 2023 Saskatoon Fringe Festival.
