The Info Tent Volunteer and the Site Surveyor will work as a team during their shift to complete surveys and answer questions from patrons.

Information Tent

This person will be one of the first points of contact for patrons needing general information about the festival. 

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • A good grasp of the English language
  • Organized, responsible, and reliable
  • Experience in Customer Service
  • Multi-tasking
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment – it can be quite busy on the street.
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • A good knowledge of how the Fringe Festival operates – ticket purchasing, location of venues, time frames.


  • Report to fringe central and pick up a walkie talkie and other supplies as designated.
  • Go to the Information tent location and arrange tables and chairs and information.
  • Answer any questions patrons may have and radio a staff member if you are unsure.
  • Have an understanding of the festival layout and grounds so you can easily direct people where to go.
  • Have a general understanding of the theatre schedule.
  • This position may require selling 50/50 tickets while at the tent as well as other duties assigned.


Site Surveyor

This position requires a friendly and outgoing individual to walk the festival site and help patrons complete our survey.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Customer Service and people skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Will be on your feet throughout shift
  • Meet quotas of completed surveys
  • Must speak fluent English


  • Report to fringe central to get the clipboard and knapsack and to get instructions.
    This person may also be the person doing a counting of patrons on the street.
  • Get a good cross section of patrons – male/female, different ages, people going to shows/people watching buskers, people browsing in the vendor areas.
  • Be able to answer general festival inquiries from patrons.
  • Approach patrons going into the plays and out of the plays and throughout the site and ask them to complete the survey.
  • This person may be required to do a counting of patrons on the street.
  • Record any concerns or comments made by people surveyed and report them to fringe central.
