BILLET

Festival Dates: August 1 – 10, 2019

Adopt an Actor!

25th Street Theatre has cultivated a long and excellent reputation with performers and our host families. Performers have enjoyed coming to Saskatoon and coming back again because of the comfortable, friendly atmosphere created by the great hospitality of our host families. For their part, our hosts and host families have also enjoyed their time billeting performers. Both performers and hosts have expressed that billeting was a wonderful experience and a great way to meet new and interesting people.

Hosts

Hosts are asked to provide a safe, clean, private place for performers to sleep and access to full bathroom facilities. Usually the hosts are very generous with their hospitality and offer use of laundry, kitchen, and other items but this is not required.

We encourage both parties to discuss their needs, habits, and expectations and remind the performers that customs and living habits differ between countries, provinces, and even house to house. What seems perfectly reasonable to one person may not be so for another. Open conversations and questions are the best way to get to know each other and resolve any habits that may seem out of place.

Why Host?

Billeting is an integral part of the Fringe festival. Because of our hosts and billeting program, 25th Street Theatre can provide Saskatoon Fringers with a greater variety of performances, stories, and entertainment from all over the world. Billeting provides more artists the opportunity to perform here in Saskatoon by offsetting the artist’s costs of traveling to, and performing in, our 10-day festival.
Thanks to our hosts, Saskatoon continues to enjoy a wide variety of Fringe Theatre performances, and more artists have been able to experience our city and share their stories with us.

Hosts will receive show vouchers that are redeemable at any show at the Saskatoon Fringe Festival.
