What it is
KidsConnect (formerly Access to Art) is an inclusion program that aims to increase participation by members of our community who would not otherwise consider or have the means to attend a theatre show at the Fringe. It is an opportunity for various members of our community to expand their experiences and connect with the greater community.
How it works
Participants pay a fee of $5.00 per ticket to ensure commitment to the program and attendance at the theatre show. Deadline for payment is two weeks before the festival begins (Aug 1, 2013). Supervisors may attend for free. Successful applicants will receive a voucher by e-mail or mail, to be brought to the theatre.
Target groups
Target groups for participation in this program include:
• Low income families and seniors
• Persons with disabilities
• Crisis shelters
• Youth groups and drop in centres
• Special care / group / youth homes
• Child care centres / seniors’ and retirement homes
• Recent immigrants
• Mentor programs
Â
Because space is limited in shows and KidsConnect groups are typically groups of 15+ people, we will contact you via phone or e-mail to determine and/or confirm which show your group will be attending, and confirm payment. If you’re applying early, keep in mind show times are not typically available until the end of May.
