Host a Performer - Billet Information

Billet Application Form

25th Street Theatre Centre has a great reputation with performers and they always enjoy coming back to Saskatoon because of the comfortable, friendly atmosphere created by the great hospitality of our billeters. Those who have billeted in the past have said that it is a wonderful experience and a great way to meet new and interesting people. Approximately one third of the 250 individual Fringe performers are matched with billets annually.

Billeters are asked to provide a safe, clean, private place for performers to sleep and access to full bathroom facilities. Many billeters are very generous with their hospitality and offer use of laundry, kitchen, and other items but this is not required. All billeters must reside within the city of Saskatoon so that their guests have access to public transportation.

We do our best to match billeters with compatible performers through the information collected on our billet registration forms. We encourage both parties to discuss their needs, habits, and expectations and remind them that customs and living habits differ between countries, provinces, and even house to house. What seems perfectly reasonable to one person may not be so for another. Open conversation and questions are the best way to get to know each other and resolve any habits that may seem out of place.

Suggested items to discuss with your guest once you have been paired may include:

  • Expectations around cleanliness in common rooms
  • Expectations around noise (ie: your household goes to bed at 10pm)
  • Use of household items & areas beyond the required sleeping quarters and bathroom (ie: telephone, computer, kitchen, laundry, parking)

The process:

  • Registrations are collected from billeters and performers
  • When a match is made, the information about the billet is given to both parties
  • If both parties agree, the performer is given the billeters contact information and told to introduce themselves (usually via email)
  • It is then up to the billeter and performer to arrange when they will meet

If you are planning to be out of town or away on vacation within 3 weeks of the start of or during the festival, please let our Billeting Coordinator know. You may know you’ll return in time to let your guests into the house but if we can’t contact you, we will assume you’re no longer interested in being a billeter.

To thank you for your generous support of the Saskatoon Fringe Theatre Festival, you will receive 2 Fringe Buttons and 10 Show Passes.
