About Fringe Theatre
Fringe theatre is an unjuried festival format that provides developed venues to independent artists. Ticket prices are set by the artist with 100% of the ticket revenue, less GST, being paid to the artists.
In exchange for your application fee ($656.00), we provide a theatre venue with a technician, light and sound gear, front of house staff, and box office services. Our average venue capacity is 120 seats. The performance schedule will include one three hour rehearsal and six scheduled shows during our ten day event. Show information will be included in a widely distributed free festival program. We provide billeting services to travelling artists, based on the capacity of our community.
Artists will provide all the necessary stage props, support materials for our Technical Director and crew (prompt book, special equipment, projection requirements, etc.), and a stage manager for technically complex shows. Maximum show length is 75 minutes.
Please consider experiencing the fantastic Fringe audiences in Saskatoon as we build the "Best Little Fringe" in Canada. We will begin accepting applications on September 7, 2007 on a first come first served basis.
Application Process
- Fill out the online application form OR mail or fax a printed application form.
- Contact us within 48 hours of submitting your form to pay the $656 application fee. Phone (306) 664-2239 with your Visa or Mastercard details or mail cheque or money order in Canadian funds.
- Please provide a separate application and payment for each production if you are submitting more than one show.
The Saskatoon Fringe is FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED
Companies will receive immediate acceptance as soon as both the application form and fee are received, until all spaces are filled.

- $20.00 non-refundable processing fee
- $636.00 (includes GST) Fringe application fee
Waitlisted Companies
Companies will be notified by email upon reciept of their application of either accepted or waitlist status. If all available spaces are full, companies must pay the $20 processing fee to be placed on our waitlist. If your company is promoted to accepted status, you will be notified by phone or email of your acceptance before the remainder of the application fee is processed.
BYOV (Bring Your Own Venue)
We now have BYOV opportunities for up to six performance companies. Preference will be given to site-specific or environmental theatre. BYOV details
Refund Process
Confirmed notice received:
- on or before March 31, 2008, a refund of 50%
- on or after April 1, 2008 full forfeit of fee
