Professional Buskers

The Saskatoon Fringe hosts an exciting street scene that is anchored by professional buskers performing in our two main busking pitches located at the intersections of Broadway Ave (11th and 10th Streets). For 2008 we are also introducing a "mini pitch" located between the Food Court and Beverage Garden.

We will host a maximum of eight professional busking groups. Buskers will be adjudicated by our staff; performers new to the festival must provide supporting materials for evaluation. Space will be filled on a first come first served basis after we determine acceptability and quality of the performance for our prime outdoor locations.

For the $50 registration fee, buskers will receive a listing and short description on our website with a link to yours, a listing in our full colour printed festival program (if registered before the print deadline), and access to our billeting program (subject to the capacity of our community).

In previous years, the order of performances was drawn daily as a group by the registered buskers. This year, if all accepted buskers agree, the schedule may be set ahead of time and included in the festival program (should timelines allow) and posted on the website. This is in the interest of meeting the requests of our audiences.

All Buskers will be required to sign a contract agreeing to the rules and regulations of the Fringe and obtain their Fringe Photo ID upon arrival at the site.
